As a lifelong farmer and rancher in Southwest Colorado and someone who has proudly served as the representative for House District 59, I know the importance of strong, principled leadership for our communities.

We are in dire need of someone who has always stood by agriculture and our rural way of life.

I have known Naomi Riess for many years, and I can say with confidence that she is exactly the kind of leader we need. I personally witnessed her dedication when she helped the La Plata County Farm Bureau resolve challenges that some of our members were facing with the State Land Board regarding state land leases. Her knowledge, persistence and genuine care for the people she serves made a real difference.

Naomi is not only a supporter of agriculture, but she is also a supporter of families, local businesses and the values that make Southwest Colorado strong.

We need more common-sense conservative rural voices in Denver so the social agendas of the left do not get imposed upon us. We need to flip this seat.

Coloradans need to be acutely aware of the importance of getting out to vote in November.

Our region in particular is facing many impactful challenges, and we need to ensure that the person representing us has not only worked here, but understands how legislation affects our ranchers, farmers and agricultural community.

Naomi is a land use expert and has made the decision to run for HD-59. She is dedicated to helping people navigate intense land-use code red tape and over-reaching regulations. We need to be heard in Denver with a voice of reason and absolute knowledge of our current challenges. Naomi facilitates effective communication in all of her dealings, which is vital to our future and what we stand for as well as the lifestyle we want to maintain.

Change is inevitable, but fair and productive legislation must be introduced and passed so it benefits the people of our region and moves us into the future with clear direction.

I also encourage RMV supporters to exercise their right to vote and do so wholeheartedly in November. Your vote does make a difference, and we must be the change; we must get our friends and neighbors out to vote.

Supporting conservative candidates like Naomi Riess will turn the tide in Colorado. It is up to us.
