Weiser Files 82nd Lawsuit Against Trump Administration Over Immigration Rule

By Thelma Grimes | Colorado Politics Colorado has filed another lawsuit against the Trump administration, this time targeting a rule that allows immigration agents to consider more factors in deciding green card applications. Joining 21 other states and the District of Columbia, Colorado’s state attorney general said the lawsuit aims to halt the Trump administration’s new public charge rule, which, he insisted, would allow immigration officials to “punish” immigrants for lawful use of public benefits.   The proposed rule change centers on “public charge,” a term dating to the Immigration Act of 1882 that allows the government to deny a green card to a person likely to become primarily dependent on the government for assistance. Immigration officers have weighed on...

Wyoming Border Patrol Turns Colorado Jokes Into Viral Business

By Zakary Sonntag | Cowboy State Daily Wyoming Border Patrol is a hit on social media. Viral videos with millions of views lampooning Colorado have turned the Laramie apparel company into a media brand. "Even a Coloradan can become a productive member of Wyoming society," its latest video says. A Colorado woman named McKenzie recently arrived at Wyoming's southern border with a familiar set of behavioral issues. She wore Patagonia clothing, made campsite reservations months in advance, and held a delusional belief that mixed greens are a main course. But don’t worry, because she's being rehabilitated in order to become a productive member of Wyoming society. That's the premise of the "Adopt a Coloradan” campaign, the latest hit from Wyoming Border Patro...

Democrat Jessica Killin’s Attack Ads Mischaracterize Crank’s Wedding Gift Waiver

By Jesse Paul | The Colorado Sun Democrat Jessica Killin is running to unseat Republican US Rep. Jeff Crank in the 5th Congressional District. She would be the first Democrat to represent the district. Democrat Jessica Killin, who is running to flip Colorado’s 5th Congressional District this year, launched her first attack ads against Republican U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank, both of which feature a misleading claim about the Colorado Springs congressman. The narrator in the pair of 30-second spots claims that Crank asked for a special waiver “allowing him to take gifts from his lobbyist buddies behind closed doors” and “without disclosing them.”  There are some big asterisks behind those assertions.  Crank did apply for a gift...

Vandals Target Charlie Kirk Statue Outside Turning Point USA Headquarters

By Zoe Hussain | New York Post A brand-new statue of slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk was vandalized in Arizona — just days after it was unveiled for the one-year anniversary of his death. The 8-foot statue of Kirk at Turning Point USA’s Phoenix headquarters, as well as a nearby poster memorial in front of the statue, was defaced with red paint overnight Sunday, AZ Family reported. Cops responded to calls about the defaced memorial just after 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement to The Post. The statue was installed on Thursday to mark a year since the 31-year-old TPUSA co-founder was gunned down at an open-mic event at Utah Valley University. Photos from AZ Family showed the red paint smeared over the statu...

Frizell Makes the Case for Education Reform Without Shortchanging Taxpayers

By Lisa Frizell | Commentary, Colorado Politics If we truly want to fix Colorado, we must respect taxpayers, demand accountability and prioritize classroom results.  Proposition NN fails the test.  The far left put forth this measure, presenting it as the only way to fund public schools. Colorado voters should look past the title and see what Prop NN really does.  The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights says money collected above the state’s spending cap goes back to the taxpayers. Proposition NN asks voters to increase the spending limitation and lets the state keep all the money above the spending cap, money that would otherwise go back to Colorado families.  The legislature’s nonpartisan staff estimated Proposition NN...

Englewood Drops Flock Cameras Amid Privacy and Surveillance Concerns

The city pays Flock $64,500 annually for its ALPR system. What they're saying: "Whether we use Flock or Axon, it's no different," Councilmember Rita Russell said. "They both do the same thing." Amendment 81 Puts Colorado’s Cooperation With ICE Before Voters

By Marissa Ventrelli | The Denver Gazette A coalition of advocacy groups and several district attorneys rallied outside the Colorado Capitol on Thursday to oppose a ballot measure that, if approved by voters in November, would require state and local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Backed by Advance Colorado, Proposition 81 would require local law enforcement agencies to notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement when they charge a person who is in the country illegally with a violent crime or when the individual has previously been charged with a felony. This also applies when the person’s legal status cannot be determined. Kristi Burton Brown, executive vice president of Advance Colorado, told Colorado Politics that the gr...

Dogs Help Evergreen Students Find Calm And Connection After School Shooting

By Brian Maass | CBS Colorado A year ago, Evergreen High School was the scene of chaos and fear. Today, the Colorado school has two new members of its community — two dogs whose presence has become part of the daily rhythm of the school, offering students and staff something they desperately needed after a shooting shattered their sense of safety. On Sept. 10, 2025, a 16-year-old Evergreen High School student opened fire, shooting two other students before fatally shooting himself. Both wounded students survived. The shooting sent students scrambling from the school and brought hundreds of law enforcement officers to the foothills campus. A year later, the physical evidence of that day has largely disappeared. The memories have not. ...
